It’s finally, officially time for some summer break fun. Thank God. With four teenagers in my house, summer is not exactly “chill,” but I am trying to find time and energy to make it great. I wanted to share some of my favorite things to do and have, which are perfect for some summer break fun.

My family and I are excited about exploring the new Epic Park at Universal Orlando Resort this summer, as well as getting my oldest ready for college. (Yikes!) Plus, we will have lots of summer break fun right here in Atlanta! Check out some things I found that can help families live smarter and easier, and create 104 days of summer break fun!
8 Things You Need For Summer Break Fun
1. Masterbuilt AutoIgnite Charcoal Grill and Smoker ($499)

Masterbuilt AutoIgnite Series 545 ($499; at Home Depot and other home improvement stores nationally) is the grill that will take your outdoor cooking to the next level. The new AutoIgniteSeries is perfect for home cooks who want to start grilling. I especially like the QuickStart Auto-Ignition button and app-enabled monitoring and control. You simply fill up to four pounds of charcoal into the MiniHopper and let the grill’s smart tech do the cooking for up to five hours. A cast iron QuickSear hopper griddleplate, bottom storage and an easy clean up system with fully-removeable components will make grilling accessible to all. For those looking for the convenience of gasgrilling with the flavor of charcoal, this design opens things up for cooks of all levels
2. Rollga foam roller, starting at $11.99

Rollga is a contoured foam roller designed to help you stretch all those tight muscles and relieve all those body aches. It targets muscles with greater precision than any other roller by digging deeper into muscles. It has helped me with flexibility and the release of muscle pain. After a day traipsing around a theme park, playing tennis, or stuffed in a car driving to another basketball tournament, this foam roller has really helped me recover faster. The Rollga foam roller is designed for individuals seeking relief from back pain, shin splints, and general muscle soreness. For all of us who are ‘of a certain age’, these foam rollers are everything!
3. The Comfy, starting at $19.99

The Comfy is a one-size-fits-all, super-soft wearable blanket. This is the lightest, softest, and most comfy hooded blanket I’ve ever seen. The Comfy Dream is giant, fitting all ages, sizes and genders. It’s perfect for cool summer nights or when the air conditioning is a little too cold. You can grab it on Amazon for easy, fast delivery too!
4. Infamous Swim Swimwear, $69+

These Infamous swim swimsuits are adorable and very fashion-forward. The men’s trunks are slim fit, like the kids wear these days. They are a bit more fitted and are a little shorter than what you may be used to, but they are so cute! The brand is famous for twinning swimwear with their Mini Swim collection! Infamous carries an array of styles and matching accessories, too. The best part is their mission to help everyone embrace their body, regardless of size, gender, or stage in life.
5. A Staycation, Hotel Colee, $175+

So you want to get away, but those gas prices, right? Whoa! A staycation in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood might be just the thing for some summer break fun. A couple of years ago, we spent a few days at the posh Hotel Colee. The Marriott-owned hotel is super hip and sleek. I felt like one of the cool kids here for sure.
I loved that they offer connecting rooms as well as suites to provide families with extra space. The luxe linens and body products in the rooms were heavenly. We even got a couple of kid-free hours to hang out at the Bubbly Bar! Chocolate martinis for the win!
6. Nintendo Switch, $449+

I love the Nintendo Switch because it can help you spend quality time together as a family (or siblings) this summer. Or, it can give one of my teens the ability to tune it all out and have fun on their own. And now, the Nintendo Switch 2 is available. It brings to life new ways to connect and play with friends and family, with new features and reimagined online capabilities such as GameChat. It is the first brand-new Nintendo gaming platform in eight years. (We don’t have a Switch 2 yet, but it is on the list of at least 3 of my kids!)
Whether we are at home, on the road, with friends, or during our long-awaited vacation, the Nintendo Switch is usually tagging along. There are over 20 games available today (with many more coming soon!), including third-party hits such as Street Fighter 6, Split Fiction, Fortnite and Hogwarts Legacy, along with enhanced editions of classic Nintendo titles.
7. VISOONE’s Sunglasses, Starting at $ 14.99 on Amazon

Want some chic, durable eyewear made for every summer plan? These Visoone sunglasses are available in a multitude of color and style combinations and provides protection against harmful blue light and UVA/UVB rays. They help prevent visual fatigue and eye strain and are:
- Lightweight
- Stylish
- Comfortable
- Affordable
8. A gift basket (for others or youself), $19.99+

You deserve a treat. Your family deserves a treat. Why not surprise them with a yummy gourmet gift basket? GourmetGiftBaskets.com has a great new collection of gifts to match all kinds of families and their secret desires for delectable deliveries. Send one to the family you haven’t seen in months or send one to yourself. You’re worth it! Here are my 3 favorite gift baskets to send to yourself. The Baked Goods Sampler is a favorite. Nestled inside a sliding lid crate are scrumptious cookies, decadent brownies, and original chocolate and vanilla whoopie pies. Yum!
