There are so, SO many Atlanta Super Bowl events for families. From concerts, experiences, and oh so may parties, there is something for everyone…including kids. And best of all, there are ones that won’t cost you a penny!
Are you ready for some football???
Since the Big Game is in my town for the first time since 2000, I am stoked to experience it. I honestly couldn’t care less about who’s actually playing the game. (If it’s not my Packers then it’s all a wash for me.) However, I’ve learned that when any big game comes to town (like the National Championship Game last year) there are tons of things to leading up to it. After a little digging, I found that’s the case for Super Bowl LIII too. Since I like to share, here are the Atlanta Super Bowl events for families that you will want to check out.

We love spending time at the World of Coca-Cola. It’s a fun Atlanta attraction.
What better way to kick off the Big Game weekend than hanging with NFL legends? On Friday, Feb. 1, World of Coca-Cola will host a “Champions Chat” featuring “Mean” Joe Greene and Carl Banks. It will bemoderated by Desmond Howard (former Green Bay Packer). Sit in on these three former NFL champions swapping stories from the glory days, commenting on this year’s match-up and answering questions from the audience. The event will take place from 2:15 to 3 p.m. and is free with general admission tickets to the attraction.
Ever wondered what the Super Bowl tastes like?
While at World of Coca-Cola during the Big Game weekend, visitors can enjoy special, limited-time exhibit showcases footballs, jerseys, ads and other items from the Coca-Cola Archives. You can even date yourself by checking out the “Mean” Joe Greene Coca-Cola commercial, which is playing in the exhibit. It’s been 40 years since that ad premiered! Don’t leave without tasting Coca-Cola Game Day Magic and Coca-Cola Zero Game Day Magic available for a limited time in the Taste It! Beverage Lounge. Sounds like one of the tastiest Atlanta Super Bowl events to me!

Atlanta’s most interactive attraction, College Football Hall of Fame, is just as awesome for football fans as it is for people who don’t really like football. To show the college football to NFL connection, they have created a special pop up exhibit featuring college football throwbacks of some of the NFL’s greatest legends.
The College Football Hall of Fame is fun for everyone, even if you don’t like football.
The collection includes game-worn college jerseys from past and present NFL stars including Ray Lewis, Charles Woodson, Eddie George, Desmond Howard, Eli Manning, Von Miller, Cam Newton, and Drew Brees, as well as Kurt Warner’s 1999 NFL championship jersey. The Lombardi Award will also be on display, along with ticket stubs from the 1994 and 2000 big games also held in Atlanta. The exhibit will also feature artifacts from greats: Joe Theismann, Vince Lombardi, and Pete Carroll.

- Where: Center for Civil and Human Rights

The Coca-Cola Company and FedEX wanted NFL fans in town for the Big Game to learn more about Atlanta. So tthey have stepped up to sponsor admission for ALL to the Center for Civil and Human Rights Museum. FedEx, an official Super Bowl LIII sponsor, has paid for admission for everyone on February 2. This includes adding extended hours (9am to 7pm). Perhaps Coca-Cola saved money by not being an official sponsor because they have sponsored free admission too. The Coca-Cola Foundation paid for admission for all January 28 through the entire month of February! You now have NO excuse not to visit this important, engaging and fantastic Atlanta attraction.
7. Legends for Charity Dinner
- Where: Marriott Marquis
- When: January 31, 5-8:30pm
- How much: $250 (proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital)
Ok so this is not one of the Atlanta Super Bowl events designed for kids. However it is FOR kids as the proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Legends for Charity Dinner has raised over six million dollars for St. Jude. It has become one of the cornerstone events of Super Bowl Weekend. This year sports analyst Bill Cowher will be honored with Hannah Storm MC’ing the event. Hines Ward will be the guest speaker.
During the event, attendees will hear from a patient family, helping illustrate how our partnership with the NFL and Atlanta community really makes a difference in lives of families battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Events like these are critical given that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for anything – treatment, travel, housing or food, because we believe all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Buy tickets here.
Head to downtown Atlanta for all the fun.
No matter if you are in town specifically for the Atlanta Super Bowl events or you live here and could care less about the Big Game, there is something for you. Bundle up. Have patience with traffic. And get out and have some fun!
