Culinary movies are a favorite for me. Perhaps it’s because I am not the world’s best cook. Or maybe it’s because I love food. Either way, I love a good foodie flick. So, I’m excited to see the new DreamWorks production “The Hundred-Foot Journey“.

Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey have teamed up as producers on this film which features Academy Award winner Helen Mirren as Madame Mallory, the proprietor of a famous French bistro fighting against the opening of a new Indian restaurant in the south of France. Madame Malllory protests the newcomer vehemently until she recognizes her rival’s undeniable brilliance for preparing masterful meals.
DreamWorks Pictures’ says: “The Hundred-Foot Journey” abounds with flavors that burst across the tongue. A stimulating triumph over exile, blossoming with passion and heart, it is a portrayal of two worlds colliding and one young man’s drive to find the comfort of home, in every pot, wherever he may be.”
