I was lucky enough to be invited to a small media gathering to see clips from the TV Land show, The Soul Man, starring Cedric the Entertainer, Niecy Nash, and Wesley Jonathan (who was at the event). Honestly, when my friends at BlackandMarriedWithKids invited me I had never heard of the show but decided to go because who doesn’t want to hang out with some cool people at the swanky W Midtown Atlanta on a Monday night? And they promised drinks and food too? I’m there.
And I am so glad I went because I found my new favorite show. I know…sounds corny right? But they didn’t ask me to do this post and they definitely didn’t pay me to promote The Soul Man. It was just THAT good…I mean LOL funny…that I had to tell you about it. Cedric the Entertainer plays a R&B singer turned preacher with the hilarious Niecy Nash as his wife. Wesley Jonathan may be a name you don’t know but you would definitely recognize his face from What I Like About You and City Guys. He is lending his abs…err…his acting ability to bring in the younger audience and keep the jokes fresh. I found him to be both cute and smart. What a lovely combination!
The Soul Man premieres TONIGHT at 11pm EST on TV Land. I dare you to watch it and not laugh.
