With most camps closed, the summer might seem like one really, REALLY long day. For me, the novelty of having no early mornings, set schedule, or homework is wearing off. Right now, there’s not much I can control but I”ve found these summer essentials are making my life bearable.

Summer Essentials: The Splurge
Ok, this first item is a splurge, something to buy just for yourself. I may not be going many places. I may not be traveling much/at all. But I can still look good. Whether it’s pulling out my anniversary diamond stud earrings just to wear around the house or splurging on a new diamond bezel necklace that practically floats on my skin, it just makes me feel good. This is one of those summer essentials that might mean buying something new or if that’s not possible, pulling out something shiny that makes you feel good.

1. Face Cleansing Wipes

2. Not-Greasy Sunscreen
Product: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunscreen Spray, SPF 45, $11.99 Why Moms Must Have It: This is perfect for squirmy kids who don’t like to sit still to have lotion rubbed in. I specifically like it because it goes on clear and not white which is great for darker skin tones. It also doesn’t feel greasy and kept us sunburn-free even after spending hours and hours outside.
3. Anti-chafing product
Product: For Her Body Glide Anti-Chafing Stick, $.799 Why Moms Must Have It: If you are one of the few dozen women in the world who have thigh gap, move along. This product isn’t for you. It’s for real women who don’t wear skirts or shorts because of the pain of chafing in your inner thighs. Hot weather plus lots of activity makes this product on of the top summer essentials. Don’t leave home without it.
4. Air Freshener
Product: Munchkin Arm & Hammer Nursery Fresheners, $6.99 Why Moms Must Have It: You don’t have to have a nursery to need these cute little air fresheners. The heat makes my trash can give off a horrid smell during summer. Put one of these little tablets in between your garbage bag and the trash can for up to 3 months of fresher air. Your neighbors will thank you.
5. A Good Book
Product: Kindle Unlimted, $9.99/month Why Moms Must Have It: I unabashedly love my Kindle Unlimited membership. I keep my Kindle Fire in my purse at all times and pull it out whenever I have a few minutes to myself. I have never read so many books, just 5 minutes at a time. Time to read is a reward for me. I love wrapping myself in a cozy blanket, and getting lost in a good book. Kindle Unlimited gives you access to 1 million+ books. I seldom buy books now because there are so many I want to read for free.
