I travel with my family a lot. We love it for the family bonding time, educational aspect, and also to see some really cool stuff. We travel by plane but mostly by car because buying six airline tickets makes me a little sick to my stomach. No matter where we go though or how we get there, a good hotel is always something I look forward to.
Over the years of doing travel reviews, I’ve turned into somewhat of a hotel snob. “No hot items in the complimentary breakfast?” “Are these really only 200 thread count sheets?” “There’s no Starbucks in the lobby? Oh.” The first step is to admit it: I like nice hotels.
This weekend we are heading down to Orlando for a quick non-theme park trip to visit family. The Embassy Suites-Lake Buena Vista is providing accommodations for us so I can check out their recently redesigned hotel. I am a big fan of Embassy Suites because they understand big families. Having the ability to put the kids to bed and then CLOSE THE DOOR and watch TV or eat all the chocolate cake I hoarded from dinner is priceless. Plus, the value of a kitchenette in the room, their complimentary hot breakfast (omelet station and everything) and Social Hour (free drinks!) really adds up with a larger family. A recent breakfast from a fast food chain cost us about $30! And that’s fast food!
Embassy Suites was represented at a recent blogging conference I attended and learned about their #prettygreat #travelhacks website. They have pulled together information from tons of sources to give parents some really useful family travel tips. Check out their tumblr for links to great info before you head out on your next family trip. And if possible, I highly recommend staying at an Embassy Suites. (And I’m not getting paid to say that by the way!)
