Dear 4 children of mine,
Do you know how lucky you are to have this guy for a Dad?
Do you know that the best gift I ever gave you was to make him your Dad? He will always love you. Always protect you. Always provide for you. Always put you first in his life. Do you know that he would lay down his life for you? He will have tea parties, play endless games of catch, and chase you around saying “I’m going to get you” until he’s sweaty. He will clean up all your bodily fluids from a myriad of places and will do his best to make sure you have the best things life can bring you. He will take you to Church and not just drop you off at the front door. He will serve as a living example of God the Father in our house.
Kids, do you know how lucky you are? As you grow, he will no doubt be your sounding board and your excuse to not do things you know you shouldn’t do. He will size up your dates, and may scare some away, and will always be there to dry your eyes and help heal your heart. Your Dad is as gentle and kind as he is firm and ambitious. He is scary smart and yet never makes anyone around him feel dumb. He’s a jokster who will always be willing to make you laugh. He is sweet and caring and thoughtful. He can explain the quadratic formula AND can give you a complete history of 80’s and 90’s rap. He is one of a kind. And he’s yours.
