Fuller House
is here! The long-awaited reboot of the cult 90’s classic finally came out on Netflix on Friday. After the fanfare from Netflix’s announcement of the next generation of Full House last summer, there’s no wonder that there were many moms binging the 13 episodes of Fuller House released February 26th.
The original Full House sitcom has been off the air for 21 years but still has catch phrases and characters that have survived. (“Have mercy!” being one of them.) Sure some could argue that it was goofy and that it was a bit after-school-special’ish, but there’s a reason so many viewers (myself included) tuned into watch each week. It was funny and everyone ends up happy at the end. Fuller House doesn’t disappoint on this level either. For those looking for a bit of old-school escapism, Netflix just helped you out big time.

Fuller House Synopsis
The premise behind Fuller House is that DJ (Candace Cameron Bure), the oldest daughter from Full House, suddenly became a widow after her firefighter husband died in the line of duty. The show picks up a year after that loss while she’s raising three boys on her own. Her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) move in to help her raise her kids. Hi-jinks ensue. The plot sound familiar? Hey if it’s not broke, don’t fix it!
I was happy to see that Danny (Bob Saget), Uncle Joey (Dave Coulier), Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) and Aunt Becky (Lori Loughlin ) make appearances in the series. I thought it was hilarious the way they acknowledged the absence of Mary Kate and Ashley Olson by breaking the “4th wall” and looking at the audience after Bob Saget said the twin’s character couldn’t come because they were busy running their fashion empire (said with the emphasis of finger quotes though not actually using finger quotes). Funny stuff.
