I’m a mom of four kids so you know that I’ve dealt with sticky situations. This is probably why Wet Ones asked me to tell you about their Sticky Situations Facebook contest. (You can win an iPad mini!) But I don’t want to just tell you about the “sticky” side of my life, but rather focus on how to power through it.
My #3 has sticky covered! |
There are three ways that I deal with the stickiness life gives me. First, when your child wraps her room in toilet paper or another decides to color on the walls with jelly, the best thing a mom can do is to keep her cool. I struggle with this on a daily basis. I pray for patience and after a couple deep breaths, I am usually able to see the humor in the situation. (Ok…sometimes it takes me a day or two.) Secondly, I try to to remember that someday, a long time for now, I won’t have any sticky fingers to clean. There won’t be any messes left around the house, no bottoms to wipe, no one asking me for just one more kiss. Keeping things in perspective really helps. And thirdly, I clean up at the end of the day. Sounds simple but cleaning when the kids are in bed and the house is quiet gives me a sense of accomplishment. I love starting the day with a mess-free house.
Be sure to head over to Facebook to enter the Wet Ones Sticky Situations contest! All you have to do is tell them about your “best” sticky situation!
Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Wet Ones. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.
