Looking for a fun, funny, yet sentimental (in a good way) movie for your next at-home date night? Well put the kids to bed and call the pizza man because I’ve got a good one for you! Best Man Holiday!
I was thrilled when this movie was announced (it’s the sequel to Best Man). I remember driving almost an hour to the “Black” movie theater in CT back in 1999 when Best Man came out and I just loved it. So when I heard that they were making a sequel with the full cast of characters 15 years later, I just knew I had to see it. And Best Man Holiday is just as good, maybe even better, than the first.
Here the synopsis for Best Man Holiday: When college friends reunite after 15 years over the Christmas holidays, they discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be reignited.
And then there’s Morris Chestnut with his shirt off. And Taye Diggs dancing around to some old school R&B. And Terrence Howard being all…Terrence Howard. Oh, there’s cool chicks in it too including Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, and Regina Hall among others. There is plenty eye candy to go around for sure.
While watching the funny moments and seeing the next chapter of this African American romantic comedy was fun, it was the tender, loving scenes that made the biggest impression. This is not your typical Rom-Com. It is cute. It is funny. It has a touching message. I highly recommend Best Man Holiday! Check it out!
