I went to a focus group today for a major tech company who wanted to hear what moms thought about their new product. Pretty simple idea, right? Moms make most of the buying decisions so ask them what they think and what would make them buy something. If it’s so simple, why don’t many companies do this? They spend hundreds of thousands if not millions on advertising but if moms aren’t talking about it, if moms don’t understand it, if moms don’t like it, it isn’t getting bought.
If more companies cared what moms thought about their products, they could have a stronger, more loyal consumer base. When moms like something they not only continue buying it, but they share it with their circle of influence. Get with it companies, focus on finding out what moms like and the rest of the family will follow.
