Disclosure: I received a giftcard to check out Family Dollar and tell my readers about what I found. No opinions were swayed by the giftcard. But they were swayed by the great selection. IJS.
It was four days before Christmas. I was running around like crazy trying to get everything done before my family and I headed out of town to visit family for 12 days. There was wrapping to be done. And packing. And cookie baking. And stocking stuffers to buy. So when the fine folks at Family Dollar asked me to check out their store so I could tell my readers about what I found, I jumped at the chance. They told me Family Dollar was a great place to buy all the name brand essentials I usually buy at mass market stores as well as some unique extras, and save some money. And were right.
I love the compact feeling of the store though it didn’t seem claustrophobic. And since it is smaller than the huge super centers, I could meander through the whole thing in 20 minutes and not two hours. The prices are pretty comparable or better than the other stores too. I bought wrapping paper and decorations, tape, batteries, some small toys, candy, and even a box of pasta for dinner. It was eye-opening to me that Family Dollar had so many things I could use. This store is really for everyone…everyone interested in saving a little money that is.
I know Christmas is over. But I’ll be going to Family Dollar for the decorations for my kid’s Valentine’s Day party. And I’ll probably stop by to pick up some cheap movie theater candy for our next at-home date night. Maybe I’ll also pick up toilet paper, candles, reading workbooks, and a robe for my 6 year old while I’m there. What do you need from Family Dollar?
