Why write a post on juice box hacks? These tricks seem simple and easy but I realized not every mom knows about them. And with school just getting started (well…6 weeks in for my kids), juice box hacks are needed. Our kids love the taste and we love the convenience. But the truth is they can be messy.
Since I started working with Juicy Juice, I’ve figured out some cool ways to include their delicious juice in recipes and spice up lunchtime. I’ve also learned these two juice box hacks to make them less messier and more fun! Check them out!
Two Juice Box Hacks Every Mom Should Know
- Freeze your juice boxes. Yes. You can freeze juice boxes. No special skills, freezers, or juice boxes needed. Just pop any boxed (or bagged) juice in the freezer overnight and then cut the top open to reveal a slushy, juicy, frozen treat. My kids can eat them with a spoon and then finish with the straw. I’ve found they don’t totally freeze like ice cubes but rather stay in that slushy state. Try freezing a juice box and then using it as an ice pack in your child’s lunch. Two birds…one delicious Juicy Juice stone.
- Open the “wings”. Do you hate it when your kids end up squirting half their juice box all over their shirt when trying to put the straw in? It is especially hard to deal with when kids are in that ‘I want to do it myself, but I’m not really big enough to do it myself’ stage. Well just pull open the “wings”, or the triangle seals on the side of the juice box so it looks like the box has wings. This allows a little more space inside the box so the juice doesn’t jump out when your child (or you) stab it with the straw.
I know these two juice box hacks are not going to create world peace or make your life full of unicorns and rainbows. But maybe it will save one shirt and overtime a load of laundry. Or maybe there will be one less ‘let me do it’ tantrum or one less ‘can we buy a ridiculously overpriced and sugary slushy’ request. If I have done any of these things for even one mom, I call this post a success. Thanks for sponsoring this post Juicy Juice!
