I’m going to New York City! Yes, it’s true. For a few days this week, I will put down the laundry and the groceries and the never ending to-do list. I will leave the dishwasher full and the pots and pans empty. I will hand over the bag of just-in-case clothes to my husband along with the extensive pick up and drop off schedules for our four kids. And I’ll jump on a plane to New York City. Yes!
I’m heading to New York along with Desiree Miller from stressfreebaby.com to do a sort of mini-junket of ABC shows with WSB-TV. As members of WSB’s parenting influencer’s team, we were selected to go to New York City to learn more about the exciting Fall lineup of shows and tell everyone about them. As a former TV producer, it’s very exciting to be back in the fast-paced world of TV, even if only for a couple days.
One of the shows we will be visiting is The Dr. Oz Show. Since I helped to produce some of The Oprah Winfrey Show episodes with Dr. Oz, it is a full circle moment to be going to New York City to see his show.
The Dr. Oz show has a focus on the mind-body-spirit connection this year, helping viewers to see what those three things work in tandem for overall good health. To help, they will be kicking off a season-long initiative called “Blueprint for Balance” to give everyone concrete, actionable ways to create more balance in their lives. As another former Oprah guest would say, they are putting some verbs in their sentences this year! They will also spend time this season on the role mental health is playing in our lives.
The 7th season of Emmy-award winning The Dr. Oz Show premieres on WSB-TV on September 14, 2015 at 3 p.m.
Be sure to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter during my trip for highlights, updates and as much behind-the-scenes shots as I’m allowed to take! In addition to checking out some ABC shows with WSB-TV, I’ll also see a play on Broadway and fulfill a dream of mine by going to the US Open! I’m one lucky girl! New York City here I come!
