The beauty of the Palmetto Dunes resort is breathtaking!
My family was given the great opportunity to check out the Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort in Hilton Head, South Carolina over Thanksgiving weekend. We received complimentary lodging and some meals and activities to facilitate the review, but of course I always give you the real deal review no matter what we receive. And the real deal breakdown on Palmetto Dunes? I can’t wait to go back!
Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort is listed by Travel+ Leisure as one of the top 25 best family resorts in the world. IN THE WORLD, Y’ALL. It is unpretentious but yet offers every luxury imaginable in a rustic, outdoorsy way. The tennis program is outstanding. The golf (I hear) is unparalleled. The food is pure Southern comfort. I really liked just being able to do things with my family. Maybe that meant riding bikes or hanging out at our villa or playing tennis together as a family. No matter what we did, it was fun! It was definitely a weekend full of memories. For anyone looking for an off-season affordable beach vacation, Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort is perfect. The Palmetto Dunes villa offered a full dining room and kitchen that was perfect for our family’s Thanksgiving (which was mostly from Publix…oh well).
Hilton Head Outfitters offers a number of bikes and carriers to rent. This Kiddie Kart was great for both my 2 and 4 year olds!
Hilton Head Outfitters even offers bicycles built for two which worked well for my 7 year old who hasn’t mastered a two-wheeler yet.
Even in late Autumn, my kids were jumping for joy at being at the ocean.
Palmetto Dunes is known for its serious tennis program with clinics and lessons for players of all ages and levels. Bring your racquets!
Taking time to watch the ducks, and all of nature, was one of the best parts of being at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront resort.
Hilton Head Outfitters offers boat rentals and we decided to be adventurous and take out a canoe. This photo was actually our 2014 Christmas card!
I took my 3 oldest out in the canoe from Hilton Head Outfitters. They recommend all kids be over 5 and I agree!
