Everywhere, all around us, every single day, are superheroes. They bring dinner home after a long day. They deal with screaming kids when I can’t take it for One.More.Minute. They fix the toilet and put together Ikea furniture and call me beautiful. These everyday superheroes make the world a better place one thoughtful gesture at a time. I know…I married one.
Today is the anniversary of the day I married my favorite superhero. He is loving, kind and funny, and he gets me. The thing that is so fantastic about him that it makes me want to cry is that he’s teaching our four kids how to be everyday superheroes too! My kids love the Marvel heroes, but the truth is that Spiderman, Superman, and Batman don’t have anything on the superhero they live with everyday…their dad. They’re soaking up his quiet strength and gentle love so one day they can become superheroes of their own families.
My everyday superhero and I are thrilled to take an anniversary trip to Mom It Forward’s Family Forward Adventure this month. Our family will be spending 4 nights at the amazing Loews Portifino Bay Resort soaking up the sun and excitement of our first trip to Universal Orlando Resort. This trip will provide lots of opportunities for our kids, and everyone, to see the superhero qualities in the man I married. The best thing I ever did for my kids is to marry this superhero who became their dad. Here are 4 lessons my kids are learning from their superhero dad:

I love that super heroes can be silly! Those are the best kind.
Can’t wait to see your super hero family this week. 😀
