Some of my fellow bloggers hipped me to this unique 5K race, the Dirty Girl Mud run. It is a girls only race that is not about your finishing time but rather about pushing yourself and helping your teammates finish. Sounds interesting, I thought. Good for them. I kept thinking about it and thinking about and after some encouragement, I jumped. I am officially running the Atlanta Dirty Girl on April 20!
While I have been an athlete most of my life, I would not consider myself a runner. I also don’t like to get dirty. So why am I doing this? The answer is easy, I just want to push myself. I want to step outside my comfort zone. I want to show my daughter (and my sons too) that mom can get down and dirty with the best of them. I want to sweat and laugh and have an experience I otherwise wouldn’t. And I want to do it with my girls! Want to do it with me?
Dirty Girl Atlanta is offering Mamalicious Maria readers a 20% discount off the registration fee! Just use the code code DGATLBLOGGUEST in the discount code box for the Atlanta race. There are two races in Atlanta, Saturday April 20 and Sunday April 21. I am running in the 9:45 AM wave on April 20.
Don’t live in the ATL but still want to get down? Dirty Girl Run has races throughout the country. I promise to report back after the race with a recap and pictures so you can see what it’s like. I’m really looking forward to this (and just a teeny bit scared)!
Disclosure: I received a complimentary race registration, but all opinions are my own of course.
